Terms of Use

Future Self (iOS app) · Effective 15 July 2026 · Version 1.0

These terms are an agreement between you and Matěj Hyťha (sole proprietor, Czech Republic — "we"), the operator of the Future Self iOS app. By using the app you accept them. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where these terms are stricter, these terms win.

What Future Self is (and isn't)

Future Self lets you define who you want to become and talk with an AI-generated version of that future self. The replies are machine-generated reflections based on what you write — they are not a real person, not professional advice, and not therapy, medical, legal or financial counsel. Don't rely on them for decisions that need a qualified professional. If you are in crisis, use the in-app help resources (Settings → Get help now) or contact local emergency services.

Your account

You must be 17 or older. You can use the app without creating a named account (an anonymous account is created on your device) or sign in with Apple to make your journey recoverable across devices. Note: an anonymous account lives and dies with the app installation — if you delete the app or lose the device without signing in, your journey cannot be recovered.

Your content

What you write is yours. You give us the limited license needed to store it, process it with our AI provider, and show it back to you — that's all (details in the Privacy Policy). You agree not to use the app for anything unlawful, to attempt to abuse or overload the service, or to reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows. We may rate-limit or suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Subscriptions

Future Self offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (monthly or annual) that unlocks unlimited conversations and coaching. Where offered, the free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Payment is charged to your Apple ID; subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. The free tier (one conversation per day, one active goal) exists so the app stays useful without paying.

Availability & changes

We're a small operation. We aim for the app to work well and continuously, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and features may change as the product evolves. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice; you can export your data at any time (Settings → Export my data).

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including under Czech and EU consumer law — your statutory rights are unaffected).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic; EU consumers keep the protections of their home country's law. Disputes belong to the courts of the Czech Republic unless consumer law gives you a different venue.
